SHORT DESCRIPTION
When a longtime client returned with the brief to create something “unforgettable,” GroupARC envisioned a residence that redefines domestic luxury through craftsmanship and material exploration. Spanning 2,200 sq.ft. in suburban Mumbai, the home was designed in tandem with the son’s wedding—demanding a duality of expression: festive in spirit yet timeless in character. Natural stone forms the project’s backbone, explored not just as surface but as a medium of detail. Italian Statuario marble transitions from polished expanses across the floor to hand-carved fluted bands in the living room niche, each 6mm groove painstakingly finished on site. The same interplay of plain and fluted textures extends into the powder bath. A single veneer shade carries this dual language forward, expressed in smooth and ribbed planes to create subtle rhythm and continuity. Private spaces adopt distinct moods within this framework. The son’s suite breaks away from stone and veneer, emerging as an ethereal “white mahal” defined by textured paint and sheer drapery, while other bedrooms highlight unique stone accents and crafted details. Bathrooms are conceived as wellness chambers, each distinguished by singular stones and immersive fittings that elevate daily rituals. Designed around a moment of cultural significance, the house balances festive exuberance with enduring calm. It is as much about orchestrating mood through light, texture, and materiality as it is about creating architectural order. What emerges is a residence crafted with the precision of a couturier and the sensitivity of an artist—contemporary, celebratory, and profoundly personal. 27 Oberoi Enigma is less a residence and more a statement: of craft, of continuity, and of the belief that true luxury is born from authenticity of material and intensity of detail.
